Venue Support & Booking Guidance
How we help the community while staying fair, neutral, & sustainable.
1. Our Role in the Community
Klamath Music is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the entire Basin’s music ecosystem. To remain fair and neutral to all artists and all venues, we do not:
- Book artists on behalf of individual venues
- Curate or recommend tailored lineups
- Act as a middleman between venues and performers
- Provide individualized artist lists
THIS PROTECTS:
- Artist fairness
- Venue fairness
- Our nonprofit neutrality
- Community trust
2. Tools You Can Use Right Now
The following resources are designed to help you find artists and build your own booking process.
A. FINDING ARTISTS:
You can independently find local and regional performers through:
- Local Venue Websites & Social Media Pages. Please visit our COMMUNITY RESOURCES PAGE HERE for a music venue directory.
- Klamath Falls Folk Music Society Facebook Group. They curate a weekly list of music events, with area artist and venue information. VISIT THEIR PAGE HERE.
- Search regional hashtags (#KlamathMusic, #KlamathMusicScene, #SouthernOregonMusic, #OregonMusic, #PNWMusic)
- Attending local shows and open mics.
B. RUN AN EFFECTIVE OPEN CALL:
Posting a clear, public open call helps you reach a wide range of artists and keeps the process transparent. Include:
- Event date(s)
- Compensation (paid, volunteer, or revenue share)
- Genre or vibe you’re seeking
- Technical setup (solo, band, tracks allowed, etc.)
- How to apply (email, form, or message)
- Submission deadline
3. Strengthening the Local Music Ecosystem
Klamath Music encourages venues and organizers to participate in the broader music ecosystem by attending local shows, connecting with artists, and engaging with the community. Being present at events is the most effective way to:
- Discover talent
- Understand audience interests
- Build relationships with performers
- Support the cultural growth of the Basin
- Network with potential patrons for your own events
Active participation helps create a stronger, more sustainable environment for everyone.
4. Important Legal Requirement: PRO Licensing
